Planting Day
On Friday, April 13th, KinStar students took time out from their busy schedule to beautify the school. Apart from our green lawns, we now have beautiful flowers and trees planted by all the children from grades one through five. It was a nice way to enjoy a beautiful day here at KinStar.
Starting a School Newspaper: The Kinstar Gazette

After reading the story “Coyote School News” in our reader, our class convinced our teacher/principal Mr. Peter Cohen to help us start a school newspaper of our own. The first thing we had to do was to decide who got what jobs. We asked for volunteers and also voted on who got the different jobs. Mr. Cohen helped us by working with our strengths.
Second, we had to decide what topics and articles we wanted to include. After a lot of talk and discussion our paper The KinStar Gazette, will include interviews with teachers, a joke column, guys and gals chatter, food section and other articles of interest to our school and to our friends. Finally we began to research and write.
Some of the assigned jobs include: Executive editor- Joyanthi Ernest-Cohen, Senior editor, Natalie Taylor, copy editor- Mira Liu, design team- Yuhan Wang and Lily Zhao, computer and technology- Justin Ye, teacher’s interviews- Benjamin Han and Andy Chen.
So keep an eye out for the first edition of The KinStar Gazette
